Work Experience

Psychiatric Care Specialist at Havenwyck Hospital (June 2015 – August 2015):
I worked in the Child/Adolescent Unit at Havenwyck Hospital. I assist the Nurse with patient admissions, discharges and transfers. I also assist the child/adolescent patients with activities of daily living (i.e., take them to meals, wake them up for showers, help them with their laundry). I also help run daily group therapy sessions that focus on different goals each day. During group therapy, I talk to the patients to continuously observe their behavior, mental status, activities; I notify the Nurse of any changes or unusual occurrences. My coworkers and I work together and participate in the implementation of the patient’s individualized plan of care.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh (August 2014 – August 2015):
I was an undergraduate teaching assistants (UTAs) for Introduction to Psychology recitations. I was assigned to four recitations. I attended the all four recitation sessions every week. There were optional weekly staff meetings that I usually attend. I also helped both graduate teaching fellows develop their recitations and give feedback on their teaching style. I took attendance for each recitation, and I also recorded completion of the student assignments and participation for each content recitation.
